We were 4.65 miles outside of the Newport jetty in 63.5 degree water. I had no gear ready and wasn’t planning on fishing on the way over so we were caught flat footed. I first thought it was a shark and then suspected it might be something better. I turned to starboard and got really close before it leisurely swam away.
